Swarming Termites
Drywood termite and subterranean termite colonies usually swarm twice a year in Spring and Fall, when weather conditions are just right. The termites are swarming to find new food sources and locations of colonies.
One particular weather pattern that they prefer is when weather changes rain to sunny and that usually triggers a swarm of either drywood termites or subterranean termites. When termites swarm they usually enter your home through cracks and crevices and areas of your home that are un painted. |
You as a homeowner notice a swarm, the most important thing you can do is try to capture and save a sample, so when Richland Termite inspector arrives, they can accurately identity weather its a Drywood or Subterranean Termite.
